Re: Fairing air intake pipes?

And by the looks of it, the pipes on the 600 go through the frame ( http://i.ebayimg.com/t/1990-Yamaha-FZR6 ... ~60_35.JPG ) Have you looked on the inside of your frame? Are you sure there are no openings?

Re: Fairing air intake pipes?

My layman's understanding is that it acts like a supercharger, and forcing more air in increases power. No, it merely compensates for underpressure that normally forms under the tank when you drive at highway speed and also acts as fresh/cool air inlet. As a sidenote - FZR doesn't have ram-air, jus...

Re: Fairing air intake pipes?

Hot air shouldn't get from the radiator to under-the-tank, because of the cover under the coil bracket. But I'd assume that having the intake pipes fitted would help keep designed air pressure around the airbox intake.

Re: [Project thread] The Yellow FZR - 1990/1993 FZR1000

Thanks, Continuity and checking the relay is the next step on my list after checking the clutch switch. In most of my work on the bike I'm referencing the '89 service manual and wiring diagram from here: http://fzronline.com/wiki/doku.php?id=fzr1000 . I actually even printed it out and it's the size...

Re: Different rear shock

The one I took off is complete scrap ,the damper has gone all together, also the shock linkage on the bike is very stiff ,maybe ceased, does anyone know the best way to free them or would I need to buy a new used set, there are plenty on ebay, sorry for all the questions but I'm a bit of a mechanic...

Re: No guage lights

Unless your headlights are out as well, it's either a broken wire or all four (actually, not three) bulbs went out at once.

Re: [Project thread] The Yellow FZR - 1990/1993 FZR1000

My original intent was to find a sort of "middle ground" in the suspension setup - a bit on the harder side for solo and a tiny bit softer two-up. Haven't had the chance to test yet, though. Front preload and rear damping are easy enough to set for each ride, but I wouldn't feel comfortabl...

Re: [Project thread] The Yellow FZR - 1990/1993 FZR1000

The bike is back together and running again. Not too many pictures, I'm afraid - have to buy a cheap camera for that actually, touch screen phones and greasy hands don't mix... and I could have used a few photos in the re-assembly. But what was done: ⋅ Oil changed ⋅ Oil filter ch...

Probably it's the weight difference... For me it says 1.0 kg/mm.

Re: crazy turn sugnals

Sorry, I completely misread your post and thought you were using plain LEDs, not a proper light cluster. banghead But in that case you likely just have a resistor with an incorrect resistance. By calculations a proper resistance per "one bulb + resistor" assembly would be around 6.86 ohms,...
