There we go, couldn't remember your whole screen name. The sound of your 400 screaming through the trees was awesome, was telling someone it's beginning to seem like deals gap is where fzr riders hang out since I was there with one last time too

Deals Gap is about my range without a trailer, at least day tripping it. Between Deals Gap (4 passes), Blood Mountain each way, and US28 near Deals Gap I got in about 140 miles of corners plus the highways and straights in between. I was wiped out by the time I got home shifting like a newb and just uncoordinated. My quads are killing me from moving side to side that much, I may pack a day bag and just get a room next trip.

You would have loved this it though, there was a two stroke rally in town so screaming engines and sweet smoke in the breeze. Some guys were damn impressive on them.

and finally the video from Chris and I, was surprised how far back I am since it felt like I was riding his tail most of it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gk0dAPoQU8M

it was a chill run but really from watching this I saw just how deep I was going into a corner, I purposefully go deep for safety and to make it a bit more fun but that was extreme. I worked on new lines and improved body position this time and drastically improved my corner speed, made for a lot more fun

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7AOz99dM63k

Chris following his Uncle

and not us but a 90 FZR600, an F2, a GSXR750, and an FZR400 from back in 91, they'll all over the lines but you'll notice they don't do it around the blind corners. That 400 was impressive

That last video is far more entertaining than me haha. @5:32 'note to self stay off the pretty black pavement.' I love the sound anywhere after 7 mins.

Chris.

Some stunning convertions guys! Love to get some FZR riders out in my dark side of the world together for a ride, but that's not likely, as I stay in the most southern tip of Africa, where we surf the waves more than the highways - best of luck guys and ride safe!

Rolled down to Lawrenceville, GA Friday night after work. From there Rob (cad600) and I mounted up my headlight (around midnight) as the mounts I ordered were defective and thank God the new ones arrived Friday. I was tired of those ugly old ass ones I scraped up just to get riding again. I also downloaded a tune into my PC3. We got up in the AM and planned our route. We headed up to Dahlonega, GA and then up 400 till we hit 60 and started the Loop. Stopped at the base of Blood Mtn to eat at this nice little restaurant I had the pleasure of eating at in '05. From there we headed over Blood Mtn and then hit 180 back around to 60 and then of course 400 and back to Lawrenceville. Nice 200 mile day with lots of scrubbing on the tires :headbang: It being this weekend though, LOTS of police presence on Blood Mtn so we slowed the pace up and decided getting out of the day ticket free was the way to do it. There apparently is a photographer that sits up there and he caught me in one set and I didn't even see him, in the second set (the other photographer in that company) I had just passed a GSXR getting a ticket and was slowing up to look back and see if Rob had slowed down. Made for an interesting series of me looking at the photographer when I noticed him. I don't know how, but they managed to not get a single pic of Rob.....wtf? :swear

We didn't stop for a lot of pics as we were putting in miles. We put in a total of just over 300 miles on the bikes this weekend and even dug up a nice chunk of his backyard to put in a wall and a fire pit by his pool. Beers were consumed while doing that and I even managed to pinch a nerve in my back.........which sucked.... banghead

Overall, great weekend with one of my best friends.

Heading towards the mountains to bring me up into NC Friday afternoon:

Man have you two been quiet or what?? Robs bike has since been painted (or decals removed) and you're on what, if memory serves, is your 6th Duc (3rd Monster?) and then you bust out pics of yet another "Rob and Bill" trip. Awesome either way just figured I give ya some guilt really quick.

I was on blood mountain briefly Friday (wasn't feeling it) and on Monday so we just missed each other. How was 60? Last time I was there the gravel made it worthless. Try 348 aka Richard Russel scenic hwy next time you're here. It's nice and twisty, I like 180 but the pavement overworked my suspension too much so I rarely hit it.

Duane,

This is actually my 8th Ducati

He removed the decals, repaired the plastics, and painted it. We're both back in school for accounting and not getting into as much trouble as we would prefer

This bike is another '01 M900Sie. I have gone crazy on it. 998 TIN frontend, Woodcraft clipons, lowered headlight and gauges, all new clutch including lighter basket and drum, etc etc etc. I'll have to share the before/after stuff as this bike was severely neglected before I got it and brought her back to life.

60 was clean, the slow cars sucked, but we just went around when safe. 180 needs a repave desperately as those tar snakes are slick and the pavement is crap, but nice curves and the bike will hold it. There was a wreck on 180 and lots of cops up there so we only pushed for a bit since they were all over. It wasn't the best weekend to go up there, but man was it fun!

The slowpokes are always a drag but can provide some laughter, last week I saw a group of baggers headed south on blood mountain and they had a guy in a ten speed just chilling behind them like he was part of the crew.

Monday was packed but thankfully everyone was cool, good rider camaraderie and only one trooper working it. Downside was someone left a strip of oil down the road, not enough to cause any slippage but I'm sure it made it a bit more treacherous when it rained yesterday. My tires were going off about then anyway so I called it a day.

Correction, I was thinking Friday but was actually there Saturday (it's been a long weekend). I was scrolling thorough squidfoto and laughed when I saw I was some of their last shots on camera D before 1 when they caught me headed home.

We were on the before 1 as well on Saturday. You were on the mountain at the same exact time as us bro.
